2010 is the Year of Learning for Sustainability in NSW schools

Jimmy with Drako

As an education company, we at Greenspeak understand the challenges associated with embracing environmental leadership at student, staff and community levels. That’s why we have designed solutions for NSW schools aimed at giving your staff a wide range of options and students exciting, informative and unique opportunities to learn about the environment…

and to feel empowered to make a difference.

What is Greenspeak?

We are a company dedicated to providing innovative learning methods for teaching students about sustainability, conservation and the environment. Additionally, we specialize in English education courses and camps with the goal of combining language and science education. Environment camps are also run during the school holidays, and are aimed at involving children in fun, outdoor learning activities.

What services do we offer?

At Greenspeak we know how difficult (and often expensive!) it is to organize environmental excursions for schools. To remedy this, we have developed a variety of innovative ‘incursions’ that can be held right at your school! We supply the lessons, worksheets (where required) equipment and even animals! For each incursion we bring along our educational animals, including a variety of insects, reptiles and fish.

The Schoolspeak program offers environmental education in-house at schools in the Sydney region. It provides a school program that complements the NSW syllabus requirements and COGS of each school, and offers a fun, experiential learning opportunity for students. More broadly, it promotes environmental awareness in the 'Year of Learning for Sustainability'.

The Schoolspeak program are written and delivered by teachers. We have modeled them on the NSW syllabus and use COGS as our central themes but we can also tailor programs to suit your school. Students get an informative and interactive lesson followed by an outdoor activity, such as bug catching, measuring diversity and so on. All programs finish with a live animal display, featuring all sorts of mini-beasts including leaf insects and a bearded dragon.
