A program incorporating Environment, Culture, and Language

to help grow future Global Leaders.

For students with a love of nature and wanting to help shape tomorrow's world, join a Green English Camp with Greenspeak

Greenspeak, an international education company based in Singapore, is introducing a differentiated English education program to help equip aspiring future leaders to grow linguistic, cultural and ecological intelligence.

Greenspeak's Kids English camps (Kidzspeak) are co-designed by ESL and environmental educators with strong belief that children with a good understanding of our environment and those who can communicate well (in English, thus Speak) will be the leading change agents in the new global world. It is a unique English language program, espousing the use of sophisticated environmental concepts for developing sophisticated English language skills.

Using CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) based curriculum developed by specialists from Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, Greenspeak have chosen locations in these beautiful countries to teach students about the plants, animals, ecosystems, and other environmental issues.

While most other English language camp providers outsource all aspects of camp delivery to public schools and homestay parents due to lack of capability and in-house expertise, Greenspeak has taken on the total responsibility by developing specialist teachers with ESL and science degrees to deliver the English classes. They also to train, guide, and lead the students throughout the day's excursions and activities expanding learning opportunities for the students. In short, they have minimised the risks inherent other overseas camp programs while maximising effectiveness.

Greenspeak's curriculum of 'classroom lessons with environmental activities and cultural activities' combines science, biology, and environmental school curriculums with English language education so that students' English skills will rapidly improve. Environmental and cultural activities also help students with EQ & CQ (Emotional Quotient, Creative Quotient) development.

Only the use of English is permitted during Greenspeak's programs, and each class has maximum 15 students with two teachers in each class. This high ratio of teachers to students ensures that the learners get constant feedback and encouragement.

There are total of five camps planned for this winter in Australia and New Zealand, each of which run for three weeks from December 28th 2009 to February 7th 2010.

Nick Evered our CEO says “we see a substantial opportunity to offer a range of our programs to help improve English language skills for Europeans”. Greece is a perfect location as it is central for both Western and Eastern Europe and other countries around the Mediterranean. “As a country, Greece has so much to offer as a destination”, says Karen Bell, our Leader of English studies who currently lives in Greece, “from the azure seas of the Greek islands to the fascinating mountains, and of course Greece is the cradle of democracy and so history is everywhere”. We believe that there will also be interest from Asia as people there look further afield for new experiences.

Greenspeak (New Zealand) has now announced its NZ Summer program of camps. In January 2010 we are offering two English language camps – one looking on sustainable farming in the South Island and one looking at the mountains and alpine environment. “We are also looking at some winter programs for July and August that will take into account the marvelous skiing opportunities” says Margot.
