At Greenspeak we understand parent's concerns regarding H1N1 flu and other communicable diseases so we believe it is important to outline our precautions and approaches to managing such issues if they arise.

1    Australia and New Zealand are now into the start of summer.  Our Kidzspeak camps commence in late December 2009, and run through January and early February 2010 - this is high summer in both Australia and New Zealand and so the incidence of all Flu Strains has declined.

Please see the following quotes and links to relevant Government web sites:

2    As it is summer, the kids spend much more time in the open and all areas for sleeping and classes are well ventilated.

3    Swine flu vaccines are readily available in both countries, so significant percentages of the population are already immunized.

4    Our staff who travel with children on specified escort flights will have been vaccinated for H1N1.

5    For all children attending camps we require written medical information including any recent illnesses, we will test the temperature of all children prior to them boarding an escorted flight.

6    During the flight and associated travel we will follow a heightened level of hygiene for the kids including face masks, disposable tissues for coughs and sneezes and hand sanitizer.

7    We have a documented management protocols for any child that becomes unwell, which include early isolation, treatment of immediate symptoms and prompt access to professional medical treatment.

8    In both countries we have access to world class medical treatment and facilities if required and we will be in contact with parents at all stages if any circumstances arise.

Many of us at Greenspeak are parents, so we share the concerns you may have.  We have built many steps into all our procedures and processes to ensure the upmost safety and well being of all the children in our care.
