Our Leadership Circle is composed of talented professionals with varied international experiences. Our strength lies in our diverse backgrounds representing many different cultures, languages, geographies, and demographics. The ideas and approaches we each bring to Greenspeak are as varied as our backgrounds, but our commitment and passion for delivering quality education and nurturing our environment unite us as one strong team.
Nick EveredGreenspeak International, Chairman
Nick is a successful leader with an outstanding reputation for his leadership style, vision, negotiation skills, and his business acumen.He has over 30 years of business experience spanning multiple industries including the public sector, management consulting services, and the Information Technology industry. He has worked across more than 16 countries and has successfully led very large sales organizations in a multi-national company managing over 1,500 staff and over half a billion dollars in annual revenues. More importantly, he has personally mentored and guided countless talented leaders across many different cultures. When he’s not too busy trying to change the world to a better more caring place, he loves to take walks by the beach, swim in the surf, and go sailing. He is also an avid amateur photographer and an occasional cook.
Yujin LeeLeader, Business DevelopmentYujin leads our Business Development, Marketing and Sales team.She has been a successful business development leader in the Asia Pacific, and has worked out of Singapore, Australia, and Korea for major multinational corporations. She is bilingual, having moved from Korea to Canada during high school. She completed her university degree in Canada, attending McGill University in Montreal and Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. She has a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. Through her own experience of having learned English as a second language, she feels very personally about the importance of offering quality second language instruction. She believes that many of her opportunities and successes in life have come directly from her ability to navigate through two distinct cultures and languages. Because of this, she feels a very deep commitment to providing unique English as a second language (ESL) opportunities for young children and young adults so that they may pave the way forward. Yujin has deep interest in philosophical and spiritual matters and loves reading about history, and listening to and sometimes playing classical music.
Rebecca EveredLeader, Curriculum & Content DevelopmentEnergetic and enthusiastic with a sharp intellect, Rebecca heads our curriculum and content development team with her rare combination of environmental science & ESL background experiences. An environmental scientist by training, she has a bachelors degree in biodiversity and conservation and she is currently undertaking a masters degree in environmental management at Macquarie University in Sydney. Rebecca has been an environmental educator at AUSECO Australia where she worked with Australian schools to teach young children about the natural environment. She is also a certified ESL teacher, and has solid ESL experience, teaching English in Greece, where she gained much popularity with her students for her innovative and enjoyable exam preparation classes. At Greenspeak, she brings these two areas of her passion (the environment and English teaching) together to help create fun and effective curriculum and content for our programs. She loves traveling and volunteering when she can, she has done volunteer work at Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney, with the pandas at the wildlife park in Xian, worked at Sydney Metropolitan Wildlife Service for many years, and has also done bush regeneration for Conservation Volunteers Australia.
Shawna ManskeLeader, Greenspeak CanadaShawna heads up our Greenspeak team in Canada. She is as articulate as they come, and has plenty of intensive teaching, camp running and environmental project experience. Shawna graduated from the University of Calgary with a bachelors degree in English, majoring in nature writing and environmental literature. She spent two years teaching young learners and high school students in Korea, and understands the challenges faced by young students learning English as a second language. Shawna has studied sustainable tourism in Ecuador, and has volunteered on eco-projects in the Dominican Republic. As an avid traveller, she believes in the importance of sustainable tourism, which she defines as ‘travel to benefit the areas being visited’. She feels strongly about providing the best possible experience for the travellers to Canada that will enrich the participants, while helping to nurture the Canadian environment she loves so dearly. Shawna loves all sports including Gaelic Football. She is also an accomplished musician, she plays piano, trumpet and french horn. As if that isn’t enough, she isn’t a half bad photographer either!
Karen BellDirector of English StudiesSmart and personable, Karen is Greenspeak’s Director of English Studies who developed our CLIL methodology for effective second language learning. She is responsible for ensuring continuous development and improvement for our ESL methodologies. With a natural ability in linguistics, she has a passion for both teaching and learning languages. She is acutely aware of the challenges of learning foreign languages as she herself is a student of Greek and Spanish. She has been living in Greece for the last three years teaching ESL while at the same time studying ESL teaching methods. She has obtained a TESOL certificate from Teach International, and also a Licentiate diploma in TESOL from Trinity College London. This gives her a very good combintion of both practical and theoretical approaches to developing effective methodology. Karen is also qualified to teach TESOL skills to people wanting to become TESOL teachers, and develops teacher trainer curriculum. Forever socially aware, she has participated in a lot of volunteer work. She has worked for animal shelters, done environmental monitoring, crisis counselling, and has even participated in community rebuilding projects in Costa Rica. Karen loves to travel, ski, and learn new languages.
Soon Yung LeeManaging Director, Greenspeak Services KoreaSoon Yung is Greenspeak’s managing director for Korea. He has over 30 years of business and management experience in Public sector, Financial services and Automotive manufacturing industries. He served as an Executive Director and Chief Information Officer for Hyundai/Kia Motors during the most significant growth period of the company, building a small Korean auto company in to an international brand. In his capacity as a CIO, he gained personal recognition as a legendary figure in developing and modernizing IT in Korean Automotive industry. He also served at Hyundai Auto Canada as a Bromont plant Vice President of Administration where he successfully managed and led both English and French Canadians as well as Koreans. He most recently served as a CEO to DongHee ACS, turning around a bankrupt company and then became the COO to the DongHee group managing both the domestic and overseas production facilities including plants in China, Yugoslavia, and Czech Republic. He has been an avid English student all of his life, and he continues to work on improving his English. He himself is always looking for better ways to learn English, and provides us with advice and insight both on English curriculum and on running of our operation. In his free time, he sings as a base singer for a men’s quartet group, and he plays saxophone. He has also recently started translating books from English to Korean, and Korean to English. |
